In beginning my preliminary research for slow travel options in my retirement years, I found a myriad of destinations fitting my requirements. Quickly, I found myself overwhelmed in trying to keep them all straight.
So, I began compiling a spreadsheet of the regions around the world and pinpointing specific locations in each. Add in best time of year to visit, language, cost of living averages, entry requirements, notes, etc. and I have the beginnings of a comprehensive database.
I thought I would publish it in the current raw form. It may morph, and I am considering other platforms, but for now it is a good start for narrowing down the thousands of options at hand.
If you have suggestions as to your favorite locations around the world that might make good slow travel stops – for a stay of 30 days or more (preferably on a tourist visa entry only), please let me know! Likewise with platforms that work better than Excel.
