Better In My Head

This past week, I traveled to Sequim, WA for an exploratory trip to see if perhaps this would be my next relocation destination. I had targeted Sequim, on the Olympic Peninsula, nestled between Port Townsend and Port Angeles, for its near perfect weather (by PNW standards). After some research and a whole lot of YouTube hours, it seemed to check all of the boxes. So I packed up the dog and took a sojourn up for a few days.

Let’s just say, as an old friend used to describe first dates, “it was better in my head”. LOL Don’t get me wrong, Sequim is a lovely area – albeit pretty remote, and relatively small in population. Neither of those factors were a deal breaker. It was more the rocky, muddy shoreline (versus sand and waves beach), and the extended drive times between places (coupled with the $4.79 per gallon gas). It was the lack of views of the water (as the town sits up on a bluff and inland). It was the distance to proper forest trails for the doggo.

I would absolutely recommend a visit – warm and friendly people, delicious food, lavender everything – but as a relocation pick, I’m crossing Sequim off the list for now. The search continues!
